Our ear, nose and throat physicians use the most sophisticated technologies for diagnosis, treatment and surgery. Our patients receive an interdisciplinary approach to otolaryngology, or ear, nose, and throat (ENT) conditions and diseases. Many of these require the combined efforts of specialists in radiology, oral surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, oncology, audiology, neurosurgery, and speech pathology.

  • Colposcopy: a procedure used to examine your cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease
  • Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP): one of the most frequently used approaches to treat high grade cervical dysplasia
  • Cystoscopy: a test that allows your doctor to look at the inside of the bladder and the urethra using a thin, lighted instrument called a cystoscope
  • Urodynamics: a diagnostic study of pressure in the bladder that can be used in explaining and treating incontinence

Colorectal Surgery

MedStar Health's colon and rectal physicians are specifically trained in the latest techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the colon and rectum. We offer symptomatic relief and treatment for hemorrhoids, fissures, diverticular disease, and polyps, among other conditions.

Colon and rectal surgeons typically treat the following areas of the gastrointestinal tract:

  • Rectum—the end of the large intestine
